An honor just to be nominated
There are still 2 days left to vote in the 2007 Word of the Year contest. Personally, I'd have suggested "vasculitis" just because it makes me laugh every time Chase on House says it with his Australian accent.

Well I tried to vote for Pecksniffian because I almost didn't recognize unctuous in the definition and started in on a chain of looking up words to get definitions for other words. Unfortunately when I click vote I get an error page.

Mel: The last day to vote was the 7th, so they probably closed it off before you got there. Bummer! The site doesn't say when they'll list the winner. I'll try to remember to keep checking.
